Ted Brooks (Gooding Jr) has everything. He is the most successful dentist in Miami, drives a Porsche, owns a waterfront condo and has friends and family that love him. This all changes when he is summoned to Alaska to hear the last will and testament of a woman, who unbeknownst to him is his biological mother. With the shock of his adoption and questions about his past, he heads north to claim his inheritance only to find that he has been left a prize winning dog sled team of seven huskies, who take an instance dislike to him. Determined to embrace his mother's passion, Ted takes it on himself to learn the sport and win the confidence of the dogs all to the amusement of local dog sled legend, Thunder Jack (Coburn)

Coming from the director of the two Flintstone movies and Jingle all the way, I didn't expect much from this Brian Levant helmed comedy but I was pleasantly surprised. The movie is good family entertainment that while slight cheesy and sometimes too nice, never really does anything to stop you from enjoying it.

Cuba Gooding Jr is as likable as ever and is one of the few actors who has no problem switching from serious roles to all out slapstick. James Coburn is as good in a more light-hearted role than we are used to seeing him in and Joanna Bacalso looks like she could be one to watch. The dogs are the real stars of the movie however, each having their own identity and sense of mischief.

On the whole, the movie is what you'd expect from Disney when it comes to a family movie, huge big helpings of sugar and a feel good factor that will have most youngsters and parents smiling by the end.
